What's Covered

What Urgent Primary Care Covers at Midtown

Midtown Primary Care is a direct primary care (DPC) practice, which means Ayesha Nutt, APRN, FNP-BC, is your provider for both your ongoing health and the things that come up out of nowhere. Urgent care isn't a separate add-on. It's part of the same membership, with the same provider who already knows your history. If Ayesha recommends an in-office injection, such as an antibiotic or steroid shot, it is available at an affordable, separate fee, which differs from a take-home prescription filled at a pharmacy.

Same-Day Sick Visits

Fevers, coughs, stomach bugs, sinus infections, and general “something's not right” days. Same-day or next-day appointments are typically available, with no new patient paperwork.

Flu & COVID Care

In-office testing and treatment guidance for overlapping flu and COVID symptoms. Care accounts for your full medical picture, not a generic protocol.

Strep Throat Diagnosis

Rapid in-office strep testing with same-day treatment if positive. Catching it early reduces the chance of spreading it to family or coworkers.

Minor Illness & Injury

Get prompt care for minor lacerations, sprains, minor burns, insect bites, and rashes, typically with same-day or next-day availability. If imaging is needed, we’ll help coordinate an appropriate referral.

How it Compares

Urgent Primary Care vs. Urgent Care Clinics and the ER

A walk-in urgent care visit usually means an unfamiliar provider, a rushed exam, and a bill that shows up weeks later. Midtown works differently: urgent visits are part of a flat-rate membership, so there's no per-visit bill and no surprise charge after the fact.

Affordability

How Direct Primary Care Makes Urgent Access Affordable

One of the more direct benefits of the DPC model is that urgent visits don't come with a separate cost. Membership at Midtown is a flat monthly rate with no per-visit charges, no insurance claims, and no coding games, a same-day sick visit costs the same as a routine check-in: nothing extra.

This matters most for people managing tight budgets or high-deductible insurance plans, where a single urgent care visit can run well over a hundred dollars before treatment even starts.

Same-Day and Virtual Visit Options

Not every urgent concern requires an in-person visit. Midtown offers virtual sick visits for situations where a phone or video conversation is enough to determine next steps, useful for working parents, limited transportation days, or avoiding exposure to others in a waiting room.

When an in-person visit is the right call, same-day or next-day appointments are the standard, not the exception.

As a single-provider DPC practice, Midtown offers the same nurse practitioner for both your urgent visit today and your care plan going forward, something larger urgent care chains can't match.
